Ricefish

The ricefishes are a family (Adrianichthyidae) of small ray-finned fish that are found in fresh and brackish waters.

The majority of the proposed species are actually minor, making them of investment for aquaria. The heftiest species, the Buntingi, is 20 centimetres (7.9 in length, but most are less than a fifth this length, with the most minor being just 1.7 centimetres (0.67 in) extended. They have various dissimilar emphasizes, combining a unexpected structure to the jaw, and the presence of an extra skeletal substance in the tail.

 Life-span in captivity is around 2–3 years, although in ideal conditions, may extend to 5 years.

The zebrafish is local to the streams of the southeastern Himalayan region, incorporating the nations India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Myanmar. Zebrafish is named for the five uniform, funneled, even blue stripes on the side of the figure, every last trace of which expand to the closure of the caudal fin.

Nannostomus is a class of fish having a place with the Lebiasinidae tribe of Characins. Every last trace of the species in this variety are regarded as Pencil Fish or Pencilfish. All but one species, Nannostomus espei, hold one to five flat dark or tan stripes with gold or silver glow showing up dorsal to the essential stripe.

Delta Smelt

Because of its one-year life cycle and relatively low fecundity, it is very susceptible to changes in the environmental conditions of its native habitat.

The delta smelt is a pelagic (lives in the open water column away from the bottom) and euryhaline species (tolerant of a wide salinity range). It has been collected from estuarine waters with salinities up to 14 parts per thousand.

They are found worldwide, in both fresh and saltwater, and are typically benthic carnivores, feeding on invertebrates and smaller fish.

Croaker have an extended dorsal fin getting to practically to the tail, and an indent amidst the beams and spines of the dorsal, in spite of the fact that the several parts are in fact divide. The butt-centric fin ordinarily has several spines while the dorsal fins are profoundly scored or split. Most species have an adjusted or sharp caudal fin. The mouth is situated level and is ordinarily subpar.

Bigmouth Buffalo

The bigmouth buffalo are group spawners which produce 250,000 eggs/kg of adult weight, their eggs are approximately 1.5 mm in diameter.

The bigmouth buffalo is a dull tanish olive shade with shadowy fins. Enjoy alternate suckers it has an extended dorsal fin, but unlike others it has an extensive sideways and terminal mouth. It is the most vast of the buffalo fish and scopes a length of something greater than 4 ft (1.2 m) and 65 lb (29 kg) in weight.

Blue-Eyed Pleco

Blue-eyed pleco have been kept as aquarium fish, and were decently mainstream the same time as the 1980's and early 1990's.

The blue-eyed pleco (Panaque cochliodon), is a herbivorous freshwater armored catfish from South America. It is nearly identified with the famous plecostomus catfish kept in a large number of aquaria as a pond greenery eater, but is quickly recognized by being dull grey to dark and having shining, turquoise coloured eyes. Love alternate species of the Panaque class, P. cochliodon sustains essential on submerged wood.

Snakehead


Snakeheads are thrust-feeders which consume plankton, aquatic insects, and mollusks when small. When adult, they mostly feed on other fish such as carp, or on frogs. In rare cases small mammals such as rats are taken.

The Snakeheads are members of the freshwater perciform fish family Channidae. These elongated predatory fish are distinguished by a long dorsal fin, large mouth and shiny teeth. They breathe air with a suprabranchial organ, a primitive form of a labyrinth organ.

Pygmy Gourami


In the right light, its eyes appear bright blue, and its arrowhead-shaped body and caudal fins reflect a rainbow of colors as it swims.

Pygmy gourami (Trichopsis pumila) is a tropical freshwater fish belonging to the Trichopsis genus in the family (Osphronemidae). It is native to Southeast Asia, and is found in Thailand, Laos, Peninsular Malaysia, and Indonesia. This fish was originally named Ctenops pumilus by J.P. Arnold in 1936. It is also referred to with a variety of common names, including sparkling gourami, purring gourami, dwarf croaking gourami, and green croaking gourami. The word "pumilus" means "small", or "dwarf", and is pronounced POO-mil-us.

Sawfin


The Sawfin is omnivorous, but mainly eats aquatic insects and their larvae.

The Sawfin (Barbus serra), also known as Clanwilliam Sawfin, is a ray-finned fish species in the family Cyprinidae. It is endemic to the Western Cape Province of South Africa, where it was formerly widespread in the Olifants River and its tributaries. Its range has decreased throughout most of the 20th century, and by now it is apparently only found in the upper Olifants River as well as the Biedou, Doring, Driehoeks, Jan Dissels, Oorlogskloof, Ratels and Tra Tra Rivers.

Celebes Rainbow


The celebes rainbow is a species of fish in the Telmatherinidae family, endemic to Indonesia.

Celebes Rainbow (Telmatherina ladigesi) is originated from Indonesia. In Indonesia, they can be found only near the town of Maros, so the other name of the species is Marosatherina ladigesi. Due to ornamental fish business and pollution, their numbers have dramatically reduced.

Bluegill

Bluegill are characterized by their deep, flattened, laterally compressed bodies.

The bluegill is noted for the dark spot that it has on the posterior part of its dorsal fin. The sides of its head and chin are a dark shade of blue. It usually contains 5-9 vertical bars on the sides of its body, but these stripes aren't aways distinct. It has a yellowish breast and abdomen, with the breast of the breeding male being a bright orange. The bluegill has three anal spines, ten to twelve anal fin rays, six to thirteen dorsal fin spines, eleven to twelve dorsal rays, and twelve to thirteen pectoral rays.

Indian Glassy Fish


The Indian glassy fish has a striking transparent body revealing its bones and internal organs; the male develops a dark edge to the dorsal fin.

The Indian glassy fish, Parambassis ranga, is a species of freshwater fish in the Asiatic glassfish family (family Ambassidae) of order Perciformes. The fish grows to a maximum overall length of 80 millimetres (3.1 in). It occurs in standing water, especially in impoundments, and it breeds prolifically during the rainy season. The species feeds on crustaceans, annelid worms, and other invertebrates. It is in turn prey for larger fish, including snakeheads (family Channidae).

Damselfish


In order to avoid predators, many of these colorful fish have adapted to live among the deadly stinging tentacles of sea anemones.

Some members of damselfish family have a unique relationship with certain sea anemones, for they are able to dart away from predators and hide among the anemones’ stinging tentacles. This is made feasible resulting from the fact that the fish have exceptional chemicals in the covering of defensive bodily fluid on their figures. This makes them immune to the anemones’ stings.

Bala shark


Bala sharks are found in midwater depths in large and medium-sized rivers and lakes. They feed on phytoplankton, but mostly on small crustaceans, rotifers, and insects and their larvae.

Common Carp


Common Carp still an exceptionally notorious sustenance fish in some nations , and are also much sought after by anglers. The ornamental form of the common carp is widely kept in ponds.

Golden Dorado


Golden Dorado are piscivores, eating a wide variety of prey fish. One of the dorado's favorite prey are sabalo, a type of schooling fish typically 1-4 kg in weight.

Golden Dorado live in the warm waters of the La Plata Basinand the Amazon systems in South America, specifically in Brazil (where it's called Dourado - from Ouro, the Portuguese for Gold) Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Bolivia, and also in the São Francisco River system in Brazil. The Golden Dorado is highly sought-after by anglers, both for its delicious taste and fighting ability.

Anchovies


What they lack in size, anchovies make up for in numbers. The largest shoals consist of countless millions of individuals, all creating their route through the untamed ocean 
in search of food.

Like all shoaling fish, anchovies convey with one another and so are equipped to swim in close formation. Their silvery sides help them do this by providing a visual aid. However, anchovies are unusual in that they can also use pulses of sound to keep in touch with each other when swimming at high speed.

The flying fox fish has a characteristic long body with a flat abdominal area. Its dorsal area has a coloration ranging from olive to dark brown.

The flying fox (Epalzeorhynchos kalopterus) is a bottom-dweller that thrives in fast-flowing foothill rivers and streams of Borneo, Java and Sumatra in Indonesia of Southeast Asia. They are also found in Thailand. The flying fox is a popular freshwater community-aquarium fish that belongs to the Cyprinidae family. It is known to eat green algae. It is also known as kuonobarbi in the aquarium trade and is sometimes mistakenly referred to as the Siamese Algae Eater.

Ghost Catfish


Native to western Borneo, these catfish prefer tanks with open swimming areas with a moderate current, and planted areas to provide shelter.

This is a transparent freshwater catfish with two long barbels. Standard lengths may range up to 8 cm (3.1 in) in nature, but aquarium specimens usually average around 6.8 cm (2.7 in) total length. The head is typically darker by comparison. Otherwise, they are transparent and most of their organs are located near the head.
